After a mishap with our Master Race Schedule, we only have 2 horses going to the tracks for us this week; however, these two sisters both stand a good chance of bringing home wins in their respective races.
Southern Belle - 4 year old filly
G1 Donn Handicap - Gulfstream Park - 9 furlongs Dirt
Last year's Breeders Cup Distaff winner is making her first start of the season trying to win the race that her dam won in 2006. She is a talented filly and had a very good season last year at 3 years old winning 50% of her races, including the Kentucky Oaks, Coaching Club American Oaks, and the BC Distaff. In this race we think she stands a real good chance of coming home the winner.
War of the Lilies - 3 year old filly
G2 Kyodo News Service Hai - Tokyo Racecourse - 9 furlongs Turf
Lilies is making her 2nd start of the year after a strong 2nd place finish in the Japan Cup Dirt against open competition. She is back in her own age division this time, but faces a talented crowd including Molecular winner of the Japan Cup and talented colts Gravedigger, Flash the Cash, and Remus. She'll have to be at her best to pull off a win, but it is within her capabilities.
