Make Sense of This

I purchased Pussy Cat Doll from Eureka Racing Stables as a 3 year old for $250,000. It was a steep, but not too unreasonable purchase for the young, promising filly. Two years later I found myself in a stall crunch and she was sold to Glenmore Parkfor $500,000 as a broodmare prospect. Still, not a too unreasonable price for the filly.

I always semi-regretted selling her as she was a honest mare with nice stamina. When I saw her on the Sales Page I decided I wanted her back. I figured if I could get her around the same price it'd be a good buy.

But then our friend Steven at Golden Acres decided to shatter our plans and quickly raised the bid. In a spur-of-the-moment decision I decided to re-bid and I find myself the winner with a cool price of $1,300,500. Almost 5 times what I originally purchased her for and 2.5 times what I sold her for (and well over what I had expected to pay this time around).

Undoubtably the most illogical purchase I've ever made. My accountant is still shaking his head at that one. He says he's taking my name off the check-book from now on...

I must admit that I shook my head at this purchase too Chelsey. She definitely is a nice mare and I actually thought about her for myself, but that is way more than I would spend. :)

Yeah... it was over twice what I originally had in mind to pay for her. But I got into my head that I wanted her... and one thing led to another...

Steven - I almost bought her too. :) But I'm out of stalls and decided I really didn't need another sprinter in my barn. I put a few bids on her - which probably drove the price up a little... But then decided with Pussy Cat Doll back in the stables, I didn't want to get into another bidding war with you. I assumed you'd be more apt to get SG after losing PCD :)
